Aini's new handphone

My wish handphone, at the moment - 2005 or 2006 budget [see if AFTA affects handphone price.. hehehe]. Sure masa tu turun habis harga handphone-handphone ni, boleh la bargain lagi dan lagi dan lagi.. muahahah [biar pecah kepala salesman tu nak layan aku]. Tapi kenapa aku suka sangat handphone flip ni a? Macam Aini punya, lawa juga kan? We are normal people, we don't need built-in camera and video in a handphone.. yeah yeah :P

Second baby blues

Met my junior yesterday @ Wisma for handover meeting.
She delivered her first baby 6 months earlier than me.

And she said she was already pregnant again @ 4 months.

Dear dear, and I told her,
Kita dah nak tambah nombor 2"

Tak apalah, rezeki..
I already know my baby's sex when I went for check up last week. Care to guess? I suppose it will be a surprise till I delivered, heheheh...

Demam Artakus

Artikel Pilihan [Terbit di Berita Harian: 7 Februari 2004]

- Sastera -
Bicara Pengarang: Novel fantasi, sains fiksyen ramai peminat: Ahmad Patria

Mungkinkah Ahmad Patria terpengaruh dengan novel 'Lord of The Rings' (LOTR)?

Benarkah Ahmad Patria menulis novel pertama Permata Aurorius ketika berusia 18 tahun?

Kerja menulis memerlukan kita mengasingkan diri. Kita amat kesepian ketika menulis. Sebab itulah penulis memerlukan ketabahan. Selepas dua setengah bulan menaip, manuskrip itu siap. Bagaimanapun saya membuangnya dalam tong sampah. Saya mula menulis novel lain.

Pada sekitar 1980-an, novel fantasi memang kurang.

Apakah Ahmad Patria mempunyai laman web sendiri?

P/S: Waiting for Legenda Numerius, buku ke-7 ;) -launch on 31st July 2004 @ KLCC-

Orang lain demam AF dan Malaysian Idol. Aku, Aini dengan Ina demam Artakus? Logikkah itu?

New look!

I spent a few days trying to figure out whether I should change my layout or not.
Last Saturday, I saw this template on beaches and decide to adopt it, adjust the coding and all, but the template seems not right for me somehow... So, the mission of changing layout was aborted for a while
Tuesday was also exhausting, for me to search the skin that I really like. I saw this, it has a really pretty fairy picture on it. But the coding is just not to my liking, I prefer just a simple, no hassle dragging button.

Ina's awak also has a really NICE layout.. the butterfly is a nice touch. I prefer that kind of blog skin. Simple and clean.

I adopt to my last resort, using Googles to search with keyword: blog skins. And this website is really great! However, since it only adapt to MT users, I spent my whole day to adjust the codes and everything.. and walla, here is the result! Even though it is not perfect as what I expected, at least I learn that encoding blogger from basic is really really a hard job. See the difference between the original template and mine?

P/S: I have a new pair of shoes, courtesy from dh. Bought it at Sogo for RM 74.95 (50% off!) for Alain Delon shoes. Really love it and the cheap bargain!! Also bought Amni and dh some new clothes at unbelievable rock bottom price. And the sale will last for a month, yeyyy!

Err...

"Awal Cik Aida sampai hari ni"

Aku tengok dia - aku selalu sampai lambatkah?
Tadi aku sempat punch kad aku tepat jam 8.05 pagi.

Putra LRT Bangsar

Never ever take Putra LRT from Bangsar again!
Today's ride was the worst, unimaginable, squeezed inside like sardines in tin. And I have to wait for 2 trains to pass before I can even fit myself inside the train while the numbers of the people waiting for it keep growing and growing. And for each train, only 2 or 3 passengers can be squeezed in at each opening door.

And of all the days, I was carrying another bag, heavy with my new thesaurus (that I bought yesterday just for the sake of answering The Star's crossword puzzle contest) and my organiser, also with the yellow umbrella since it was raining. And I was like being glued to the window of the LRT station and looks like Spiderman trying to climb the LRT wall.

Uhhh.. why can't they make the transport more efficient? Like a longer train to accommodate more passengers? And why can't the ministers act something about the poor state of public transport in Malaysia?

On another note, Aida: Never take train after 8 a.m. since you will punch your card exactly at 8.30 a.m. after running like mad from Masjid Jamek station to the office.

Another cream of the day, I was called to a meeting at The Weld and I was running to go over there and even told the person who called me that I will be late! Geez, the state GM already know my name and even know I have a twin.. Drats! Tak boleh cabut sesuka hati dah kalau boss takde

MPH Reader's Circle member

I officially declared that I become a MPH Reader's Circle member today!
Er mama, since I am not familiar with the benefits and the redemptions and the offer... care to explain a bit?

Sape nak beli buku kat MPH, pinjam kad aku.. jangan pinjam kad tinidewi, nyeh nyeh nyeh :P

I just figured out that my daughter is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. Just as she is afraid of the sound of the drill. So, my Sunday, where I drilled the wall went on like this:

Me, drilling the wall
Amni cried and cried [she was sleeping BTW, I thought the sound of the drill wake her up]
Me went to Amni and sing a lullaby for her to sleep
Me, again, drilling the wall and Amni cried [her eyes wide open]
Stop drilling - take a peek and saw her stop crying
Start drilling - she cried again
Stop drilling - she stopped
Start drilling - she wailed

That's when I figured out she was afraid of the sound of the drill. And Amni's grandpa just told me, she was afraid of the vacuum cleaner itself. Maybe she thinks the vacuum is going to eat her looking at the way that machine works. She even chased my father when she saw the vacuum cleaner is heading towards her.. BTW, I vacuumed our home when she's not in the house, ok?

Haha, my dear daughter is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. That is like; Oh-so-cute!

It's quiet strange for me to be called 'Cik' by the older ones. My previous division had an excessive numbers of executives and we called each other by names, even the non execs didn't address me as 'Cik' at all. So, here I am, doing Finance Operations, and the number of executives over here is only 2 - for the moment. 1 will be coming from Sabah region and for the meantime, I will cover the workload for both posts. But how weird it is when the elders called me 'Cik'. Some sign of respect for their superior? Even in Aini's division, they didn't call her 'Cik' and over here, all the staff that I knew called me 'Cik' except for my boss.

And, wohoo.. what a weird thing to notice. You are so used to swiping your card to the card reader that when I first came here, one of the staff helpfully asked me whether I have a punch card. Well, punch card looks like an old method compared to the one that I am used to. I was quiet shocked for the moment, usually we just swipe and get in the office. But here, you have to punch your card in the machine. Yesterday was SO funny, I saw 5 staffs lining up at 4.58 p.m. to wait for their turn to punch card and get home. Guess I will have to adapt to the old machine soon or I will keep forgetting to punch my card. And hey girls, they even penalised you of being late. Talk about efficiency!

And one more thing that I notice, only me and my boss used the YM! And the makciks are all very hardworking, they didn't laze around like... err... someone. And here I was typing happily at my blog in front of full view of others [ok, I am still stationed at the computer's table- so sue me since I still didn't get my cube and THAT big table I planned to sleep under it]. Even some makciks stopped and stared at my computer screen, but I didn't care at all.. nyeh nyeh nyeh :P

I feel so young over here, even the boss always couldn't find me. He said I am quiet small and looks like his daughter. But, dear God, would you believe it when I say I actually sit beside my boss? And he can stand up, search for me and called me "Adik Kecil" while all this time, I was sitting beside him? Guess I am really small as what he claimed!
Yesterday, I issued out an e-mail to my previous team member..

Wish him all the best. Moga mendapat redha dan rahmat dariNya.
Finally, one of my ex is getting married and personally, if you asked me, I would say that Ainor will be the last to settle down. Who would have thought otherwise? Guess he has find his dream girl after all.

Friday, 9 July 2004

We were happily biting into our McD burgers when a Chinese pakcik sat beside us with 2 bags of Spiderman 2 goodies. Mama Ameer even gaped and stared at those bags -like us- boy, I am sure the old uncle noticed that we were vying for his Spiderman bags because it was like SO cool and SO big and we are SO sure that there are lots of other freebies inside!

And we were like running after we get out from the lift on Level 3 because it seems that everyone inside the lift also was talking about the goodies.. haiyoh!

And guess what? Truly our bad luck! They are giving it away to the first 500 who turned up at the Spiderman's redemption booth with the password: Swinging Web, and we didn't know it. Tini found this from a Malay girl who helpfully told us the password and when we come back, the 500 goodies are all gone -penat je kiasu with Lynn tadi. And they said other bags will be given at 2 o'clock if you present a coupon from Tamil Nesan yesterday's newspaper.. Haiyoh, so terror la these people, they know that we wouldn't buy that Tamil newspaper and they put the Spiderman 2 advertisement in THAT newspaper!

And I was like going to bang my head on the wall when I said to Lynn and Mama, that we should ask the Chinese uncle in the first place how did he get his Spiderman bag of goodies..

Bo ho ho ho :(

P/S: Spiderman 2 was good! I saw it last Saturday on midnight show at Mahkota Parade
My farewell lunch treat for my colleagues @ Shakey's Midvalley @ 7 June

P/S: Where can I get empty box?

Friday, 2 July 2004

It has been hectic these few days.
Went to Menara Weld for my reporting to GM KL.
Went to Bukit Mahkamah for my reporting to Finance KL.
And just got back here at my old division to pack all my things.

Thank God I have a very understanding new boss.. and, oh dear.. all my staff are makciks of 40s. I will be running to and fro from Bukit Mahkamah to Menara Telekom for the coming 2 weeks. So, don't expect me to update much, but I will try to update the blog the moment I have my free time.

My old division is already dissolved.
