Amni's full sentences

Usually she would just say, "Nak susu", "Abah", "Ibu" and "Fawwaz" and other common incomplete sentences.

But yesterday, at 2 years, 3 months, 1 week and 3 days old, she uttered her first full sentence in front of me.

"Ini ayah saya."
"Ini ibu saya." Her fingers pointing at me.

Oh, how she had grown up.

Langkawi

Today we were supposed to go to Langkawi.
I booked the tickets last July and we were waiting excitedly while searching for places of interests.

However, since the e-mail came from HR saying that all executives are not going to apply for any leave, there goes my RM 300..

I am really clueless. A planned 8-month trip just go to waste. We were waiting for any e-mail saying that it is OK to take leave, but since there is none, we had to continue working as usual.

Anyway, I just hope Allah showed us the positive effect from all of these sudden turn of events.

The Shanna's Show

Anyway, the cartoon is a tribute from The Shanna's Show, one of the TV series at Playhouse Disney Channel.

The girl's name is Shanna and the brother's name is Shane. When I watched the show with the kids, I would instantly connect those two characters with Amni and Fawwaz.

To Semah, thanks a lot :D.
Sorry for such ridiculous demand -demanding tahap melampau aku ni.

Walaupun cik Semah demand makan kat hotel, kita tunggu Yati belanja kita berdua, tu kira ikhlas dari hati aku juga ler.. ok tak? Hehehehe :D

Aik, buat apa tu?

Fawwaz tengah teropong apa tu?

Dongeng rakyat Malaysia

Bila tenung-tenung balik, rasanya tak banyak buku bahasa sendiri kat rumah.

Kadang-kadang terfikir, bila dah besar panjang ni, mana nak cari buku-buku ni semula? Rasa rindu sangat nak ajar anak-anak mengenai cerita rakyat Malaysia sendiri.

"Students nowadays, it's sad. They don't even know about the folklores."
"What kind of stories, madam?"
"Oh, you know, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty."

Masa tu Aida memang minat dengan dongeng rakyat Malaysia, jadi rasa sedih jugalah bila fikir-fikir balik, tak banyak pun buku-buku cerita rakyat masa kat perpustakaan sekolah.

Anak Aida sendiri pun, tak payah ceritalah, dia memang tahu menyanyi lagu Twinkle Twinkle Little Star atau Row Row Row Your Boat. Mana pula hilangnya lagu Ikan Kekek, Bunga Matahari atau Suriram?. Risau juga anak-anak sendiri tak tahu pasal benda-benda ni.

Rasanya nak kena gear up balik ni mencari bahan bacaan kanak-kanak yang bermutu dalam BM. Buku masa kecil-kecil dulu rasanya Ummi dah buang, dah lama sangat.

"I'm sorry"

[1]
If dh uttered the phrase everyday (like yesterday), mahu cair beb :P
But then he had me who love to do sulky face (merajuk ler konon). And if he uttered the magic word, for sure I cannot do the no-talking-to-me mode.

Cair cair :P

Anyway, I think if he kept saying sorry if he or I am wrong, maybe if he asked to buy PS2, then I would be happy to pay for it.. ceit... A sure way to ampu your wife eh?

[2]
After receiving a very interesting e-mail from HR, I am still considering whether our trip to Langkawi this week has to be cancelled?

Can anyone enlighten me since I booked the ticket last September?

[3]
I thought I am the only one having problem with the Monday tudung?
It seemed that the executives from another unit also said bad thing about the tudung.

Amni cried

It was funny, actually.

We said to her we were going to her tok ayah's house. However, she thought something was not right since we were going there by car.

Usually, we will walk a few hundred metres to the house. And usually, we always send her to the nursery riding the car. However, we have to run an errand for her nek ummi and we opted to go by the car.

She tought she was going to be send to the nursery and cried.

With much avail and force, we managed to dragged her into the car. She was smiling back when she saw us actually dropped by her grandparents' house.

Umbrella

People might be thinking that two women were crazy since they tested almost half of the umbrellas from one Chinese shop on the pedestrian walk.

That crazy women would be me and my colleague.

Even the shop owner was amused with our testing on his umbrellas.

Auto debit TH

I was smiling from ear to ear when I update the deposit book this morning. *wink*

For those who wants to do auto debit to TH (especially to Yati):

[1] Take the 'Borang Potong Gaji' from HR or TH.
[2] Fill the particulars of each TH account that you want to auto debit directly.
[3] Ensure one copy is send to TH and one copy is send to our HR. Please do not send both copies to HR, they do not send the copy to TH at all (I have experienced this and redo the form back again).
This is applicable (the sending part to TH) only for people who wants to do auto debit to other TH accounts as well. In my case, I auto debit to 4 different accounts (my whole family).
[4] Wait for your next salary slip, the deduction will be reflected under code 502 Tabung Haji.

There is no charges for auto debit to TH. And it is far easier to control your spending since you know the money has been debited directly to your TH savings.

My wish list

If I get my bonus (as if, ini angan-angan je), I am considering to buy:

[1] Tap water filter
[2] Sewing machine
[3] Laptop
[4] Handphone

No. 3 & 4 will not be in my top priorities yet. I will wait for laptop to be priced lower than RM 1000 and handphone priced lower than RM 200 - to constraint myself rather than dreaming about it lots of time.. teheee

No. 1 would be the top choice and I would use my bonus to get it (yup, my own money, hard labour.. wohhoo)

And no. 2? Well, save about it later.
I can dream but my dream should be practical and for the benefit of the household. Chewaahh! That, I should consider as my own word of wisdom.. *wink*

Sikit saja jauh hati

Ada orang selalu cakap aku bising.
Aku tegur sebab nak minta dia buat benda betul.
Tapi dia tuduh aku bising bising bising.

Aku tengah kecil hati.

Pei Pan

I considered Pei Pan as a masterpiece from Ramlee Awang Murshid. The novel was recognised as the 2nd winner of Hadiah Sako for National Novel in 2002.

And what prompt me to remember about the book is that today, TV1 screened its first episode of Pei Pan (adapted from the novel) at 6.00 p.m. Now I will be stuck in front of the idiot box every Sunday (I suppose).

The book is really good and the first episode met my expectation. Go and watch it!

Khianat. Bukan kerja orang jauh. Bukan niat busuk orang asing. Jauh sekali ainaya musuh. Kerja jiwa yang ditunggang nafsu, dipacu iri terasa dikalahi. Melalui perjalanan masa yang panjang, tenang, terselindung baik, tanpa kocak dan prasangka, baru khianat menampakkan wajah sebenar.

Pei Pan cerita tentang kepercayaan, perjuangan, persaingan.
Pei Pan cerita tentang perselingkuhan, pembunuhan, pengkomplotan.
Pei Pan kisah dunia korporat, penuh warna kehidupan sebu oleh debar meruntum.

Balance of the month

Something to ponder after looking at Julie's cash flow

After I have done my working cash flow, the balance is.. ehem...

RM 61.75

Oh. My. God! *gasps*
Now the reality struck hard. But on the fun side of it, I would say I do not save much in Maybank because it is a conventional bank?

But, I still could sleep soundly at night knowing RM 800 is safely tucked away in TH every month.
Yehaaa!

Sudoku

I am addicted to Sudoku since I found the link from Mas.
Oh, don't ask me how to play, I only started playing it yesterday and I start with the easy stage.
I slept late last night since I was improving my time in completing it.

Reminder: Please do not put softener [eg: Softlan] in your washing machine if you are washing the co's tudung. Mine has already suffered it sequences - bertompok-tompok (I am having nightmares!!!), and dh commented that the fabric is really lame...

7 signs that your child loves you

1. Your newborn stares into your eyes - he's actually working hard to memorize your face. He doesn't understand anything else about the world, but he knows you're important.
2. Your baby thinks about you even when you're not around. Between 8 and 12 months old, he'll start to scrunch his face and look around when you leave the room - and he'll smile when you return.
3. Your toddler throws wicked tantrums. Nope, those screaming fits don't mean he's stopped loving you. He wouldn't be so hurt and angry if he didn't trust you so deeply.
4. Your toddler runs to you for comfort when he falls down or feels sad. Kids this age may not truly understand the meaning of "I love you," but their actions speak louder than words.
5. Your preschooler gives you a flower picked from the garden, a finger-painted heart, a sparkly rock, or another gift.
6. Your preschooler wants your approval. He'll start to be more cooperative around the house, and he'll look for chances to impress. "Look at me!" will become a catchphrase.
7. Your grade-schooler trusts you with secrets, like his first crush or his most embarrassing moment. You're his confidante, even if he shies away from your hugs in public.

P/S: Yang no 3 tu very applicable kat anak-anak especially Fawwaz.. hohoh, very tantrumic boy (oh, you get the idea.. screaming fits everyday) sampai mak pak nearly traumatised.. ngeee :D

Islamic mixed investment options, I consider

I am not going to close my Maybank account since I opened it under Maybank Wadiah Saving Account.
Our family accounts are with Tabung Haji.
Our apartment loan is with EON Bank Financing-i (BBA).
Our car insurance is with TN Motors -under Takaful Nasional.
Dh invested under Takaful Pendidikan for the kids.
And I only invest in gold dinars.
Our credit card is with Maybank, but since we never incur any interest, that is fine with me.

I am going to survey further other options for Islamic investments, am going to consider:
[1] SBB Islamic Mutual Fund - still do not have any info on it yet
[2] Public Bank Islamic Fund - the best performing Islamic fund in Malaysia
[3] Takaful Prima - this is really good
[4] Another gold dinar investment contract?
[5] Islamic fixed deposit - so I am a low-risk people

My point is: Have mixed investments

The bad tudung day

[1]
Today is Monday, the bad tudung day. They said the scarf was made of 100% silk, but am having a really hard time to wear it after washing it. It got crumpled here and there and I have to iron it thrice to make the material smooth.

Oh, so where is the promise of made from 100% silk material?

And Monday would be my bad tudung day, very da' kelepet here and there.

[2]
Yesterday, Amni was pointing at the TV and said "Awi.. Awi" while watching the Mamee Kari advert. You know the ad which showed Mawi slurped the mee? Go figure!

And when she saw he singing "Aduh Saliha" she would point out that guy again. Where did she learned about Mawi? -yeah, I know she remembered him since we saw his picture in a magazine before and she pointed to us it is "Awi".

*Sigh*

Gara-gara

Inilah gara-garanya kalau dengar cakap suami tapi tak semak semula betul-betul.

Pagi Ahad...

"Abang, kalau pergi kenduri Anis Wardah kat Banting, kita kena balik dulu. Kenduri Abang Faizal kan malam?"
"Eh, kan kenduri dia mula jam 5 petang?"
"Oh ek.." sambil suami mengangguk kepala.

Bila semak dalam kad, betullah jam 5 petang..

Sampai di rumah Dr Ali (bapa kak Shiqin) jam 5.20 petang.

"Eh abang, biar benar, kenapa macam takde orang pun?" Aku tergelak-gelak.
"Agaknya silap kot, cuba tengok kad.."
"Ha, kan dah cakap kendurinya malam..." sambil jari menunding ke arah kad.

Kad walimah abang Faizal pelik sikit, biasanya walimah perempuan tertulis di sebelah kiri dan walimah lelaki di sebelah kanan. Tapi, gara-gara aku sendiri dah terbiasa kelaziman ini menyebabkan aku tersilap tengok waktu kerana kad tersebut, walimah perempuan tertulis di sebelah kanan.

Suami dah tersengih-sengih. Kawan yang datang pun dah terkulat-kulat.

"Kita masuk rumah dululah.."

Dr. Ali datang bersalaman, kami pun tergelak-gelak.
"Macammana boleh datang awal ni?"
"Tersilap tengok kad, pakcik!"

Suami dah terkulat-kulat dengan aku. Na, adik abang Faizal cuba telefon pengantin baru. Tak dapat pulak!

"Err.. pergilah Alamanda Putrajaya dulu ke," Na bersuara.
"Yelah, kenduri mula pukul 8, kan? Ni pun nak dekat pukul 6."
"Kita main bowling jom!"
"Na, tumpang solat boleh?"
"Boleh, boleh, akak dok dalam"

Hajat tak jadi pula, solat terus di masjid sambil mandikan anak-anak. Pusing-pusing to kill the time.. :D

Heheheh..
