Retail therapy

After a lunch with Lynn and Aini at SEED Cafe yesterday, we went for a retail therapy session at MidValley.

Since Aini announced to us that she will be going back with her officemates, Lynn and I took the opportunity to linger around the shops.

Lynn bought a nice ELLE handbag as a treat for herself. I bought a pair of sandal from x:odus for less than RM40 with a cash voucher (to match with Amni's sandals on Hari Raya). I got the cash vouchers since I bought fragrances for my husband as a belated birthday present (I told the salesman he aimed the right person when he did the promotion, "Macam tahu jer suami akak cakap semalam perfume dia dah habis"). Nice perfume from Sean John (I just surfed the net to confirm Sean John is actually P.Diddy as what Lynn told yesterday) entitled 'Unforgivable'.

Anyway, since I just got back from a long holiday at the Palace of the Golden Horses hotel (pening makcik tengok banyak sangat patung kuda sampai nak mandi pun ada bath foam bentuk kuda), we did a retail therapy session at MINES shopping fair (since it is Mega Sale) and splurge on buying the kids new clothes for Raya session (yes, I did my Raya shopping pretty late this year).

From top: Sleeveless t-shirt for Fahri, sleeveless top for Amni and t-shirt for Fawwaz (he loves the green car).

Fahri in the bumbo seat (this thing is a lifesaver!)

It was nice to do some retail therapy session to relax the mind.. ahhhh :). And thanks to Lynn, I got a free lunch!

Beratnya ujian Allah

We went for a kenduri tahlil arwah last Saturday.
Berat mata memandang, berat lagi bahu memikul.

To Zarid and Fahmy, both of you are strong. Both of you.

I called Yati last Friday and she cried while I also had to shed a few tears when I heard the story.

It wasn't easy to cope with the loss of your newborn. It was never easy to know that you were giving birth to a stillborn when you are already having contractions and was expecting your beautiful baby.

To both of you, I salute you for your patience.

Sibuk sebab..

Fahri masuk 4 hari demam berjangkit Amni
Fahri meleleh hingus berjangkit selsema dengan Fawwaz
Fahri batuk-batuk sampai muntah susu
Fahri cirit-birit sebab ibunya tersalah makan

;| ;|

Kalau kita sendiri demam tak adalah rasa susah hati sangat, kasihan tengok anak-anak demam.
Hari-hari berjaga dari jam 3 pagi.

*

"Nak muntah," lembik suaranya.
Suami sudah panik, saya menghulur plastik. Tengah jalan sudah muntah. Habis gaun yang dipakainya cantik-cantik terpaksa ditukar. Sampai rumah kawan, dia tidak mahu tidur. Berapa kali keluar masuk bilik air sebab katanya mahu muntah.

Fawwaz, belum kena lagi. Tapi selsema dan batuknya masih belum sembuh. Sudah berminggu-minggu. Kalau disuruh telan ubat, mukanya mencebik.
"Fawwaz, telan ubat ni. Jangan kehek," suara sedikit tinggi.

Cirit-birit 2 kali. Dengan mata suami masih terpejam, saya kerahkan minta bangun. Fahri memang manja, tidak boleh ditinggal-tinggalkan.
Tangan saya sentuh dahinya. Panas!
Walaupun muka mencebik semasa diberikan ubat, laju tangan menyuap. Upahnya, susu badan. Jam 5.15 pagi, baru dia tidur semula.

Susah hati memikirkan sekiranya perlu cuti segera. Banyak cuti dihabiskan kalau anak-anak demam.

Antaranya;
Sistem memasak.. hari kerja memang tidak sempat, kami beli luar sahaja. Kak Ija pun sama, tapi keluarganya makan di rumah emaknya.
Kerja rumah pun terpaksa dibahagi-bahagikan.

Hehehe, siapa nak tambah anak nombor 3 tu janganlah rungsing. Kalau susah sangat, ambil saja bibik.

Tagged by Baiti

[1] Firzanah Amni

Masa mengandungkan Amni dulu, memang kena sediakan dua nama. Sampai bersalin, masih tak tahu jantina anak. Sekejap-sekejap doktor cakap perempuan, sekejap-sekejap lelaki.

Masa tu, tertarik sangat dengan nama Saudah Marriyyah, Aisyah Khadijah (semua nama isteri Rasulullah s.a.w.).

Terus suami buka buku cari nama lain. Sebab nama suami mula dengan huruf F, dan nama sendiri A.. dapatlah Firzanah Amni.

Maksudnya;
Firzanah : yang cerdik, pintar
Amni : keamanan

Dek selalu dipanggil Amni, maka anak daraku ini memang mudah dijaga sampailah sekarang. Tersangatlah mudah, alhamdulillah. Kena marah pun, senyap je. Kena cium pun, senyap je. Tapi selalu senyum, manis sebab ada lesung pipit.

[2] Fawwaz Amin

Masa mengandung 6 bulan, doktor scan dah cakap lelaki. Tak sempat nak buat surprise, tak sempat nak pesan kat doktor jangan bagitahu.

Kenapa? Sebab teringat Rasulullah s.a.w. mempunyai sifat amanah, sehingga baginda sendiri digelar 'Amin'

Maka terciptalah nama Fawwaz Amin. Talhah buang mana tah dah (sampai Aini komen, kenapa drop nama Talhah, kan dah best tu.. huhuh :P)

Fawwaz : menuju kejayaan

Ligatnya, masya Allah, awal-awal lagi suami pesan kat Fahri jangan nakal-nakal macam Abang Fawwaz ye :P

Anak teruna yang ni, kalau tak jatuh satu hari, tak kena marah satu hari.. memanglah tersangat pelik. Ada saja mischief on his sleeve. Entah macammana otak dia berjalan pun tak tahu la, ligat sangat.

[3] Fahri Ahmad

Frankly speaking, anak no. 3 ni yang paling tak bersedia apa-apa. Nama dipilih masa 9 bulan mengandung. Itupun Aini yang cadangkan dek terkena wave "Ayat-ayat Cinta" tulisan Habiburrahman El-Shirazy. Almaklumlah, hero buku bernama Fahri Abdullah Siddiq.

Mula-mula hendak pilih nama Fateh/Fathi.. tapi mungkin terasa Fahri tu, bunyinya lagi manis, terus minta Aini tanyakan suaminya apa maksudnya. Suami pula hendak sangat nama Ahmad (nama bapaku :P), kerana Rasulullah s.a.w. pun dipanggil dengan gelaran 'Ahmad'.

Fahri : kegembiraanku
Ahmad : gelaran Rasulullah s.a.w.

Our home

So many things to tell.

It finally hit me, that we will be missing our old home. "Nanti tak ada orang baca Al-Quran dah dalam rumah ni," he said. We have lived there for 3 1/2 years, nearly the same age as Amni.

The deal was sealed last Thursday. A Chinese family (with 3 kids) bought it for RM 255,000. They came to take a second look and decided on the spot they must have our fully renovated home (when one of the women mentioned our house is clean, hehehe).

My mom wanted to sell the house. Insya' Allah we will be moving to a new home by end of this year, I suppose.

He can be so unexpectingly sweet, sometimes

I am on MC today. Caught a virus fever from Nilai, I suppose. I went to sleep on 11.30 p.m. but suddenly felt so cold that I was shaking uncontrollably. I had to call him to send me air badak and Panadol.

He slept with Amni and Fawwaz last night. I was asleep with Fahri on the master bed. He fetched ColdFever for me.

Since I was still not well this morning, he took a half day leave.

Oh, did I tell you yesterday, we watched The Sound of Music? I watched my favourite film with him, with all the sing along songs. Yes, he can be so unexpectingly sweet.

My new hobby: scrapbooking

I am currently engrossed with a new hobby; scrapbooking. I have been dreaming to start scrapbooking since I was 25. Kak Ida supplied these things for me to start my own project. And to make things much easier, her office is just behind mine, so imagine meeting her and having lots of supplies at one go :D. I arranged to meet her last 2 weeks, and she had been kind enough to sort supplies for me (I told her I am a newcomer).

The books..
Left: The Complete Book of Scrapbooking (a gift by Aini for my 25th birthday when I was keen to start my project)
Right: Let's Start Scrapbooking (bought for a mere RM 9.90)

My box of supplies

Colourful arrays of cardstocks, patterned papers and letters

My attempt on scrapbooking

Another simple attempt dedicated to Amni

Amidst being busy with stocking up my EBM and readings, I am pleased with the turnout on my new project :).

On nearly being a Harry Potter ex-fan

My ex-best friend cum buddy (notice I use 'ex'? BTW, my ex-best friend is a guy, and I don't think it's proper to continue being best friends with the opposite sex when you have a husband.. tehee) SMS-ed me last Sunday while I was at PD saying he finished reading the last installment in the HP series - Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallow.

I SMS-ed him back saying that I want to borrow his book but he SMS-ed me back saying he was shocked that I haven't read the book yet.

Duh, like whatever..

Yesterday, I said to him that I am not a die hard HP fan anymore. I used to get so excited when a HP book was released. I will get starry eyes all day long and wondering what was in the store for me. I will be talking about Harry, Hermione and Ron non stop. It wasn't easy being with me while I was talking about Harry Potter all the time. I still remembers that there are not so many Harry Potter fans around at that time, and people just got so confused when Aini and I started being Potterish all over, talking about how would you imagine Voldemort looks like.. or what do you think about bookish Hermione, that kind of stuff etc.

That excitement just died, I suppose. I have noticed my interest towards Harry wavered after I finished the 5th book (Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix). I told my buddy that JK Rowling lost her touch in the 5th book and that makes me nearly being a Harry Potter ex-fan.

If you guys notice the book list that I wrote in March, do notice that I also wrote at my no. 9 this quote "I stopped reading HP after the 5th book, guess my HP mania is cured". And yes, dear readers' guess are right. I haven't read the 6th book yet. Aini said it bores her to tears (OK, I exaggerated that!) and most of my friends did give bad reviews about the book. My buddy asked me how am I going to read no. 7 without reading no.6? And I answered, in the world of internet, Wikipedia is always useful. That's where I got my quick summary of book 6 without causing a hole in my pocket to buy the book.

Anyway, I heard from a friend that the new HP film is really good, but my buddy said it is really boring. Now I got a mixed review, but my buddy did say the 5th book is the best. Yucks!!

I am still not immune to Harry Potter, I believe. But I am nearly becoming an ex-fan of Harry Potter.

Dear JK Rowling, do not make me bores to tears anymore.
And puh-lease, why didn't you let Harry die in the last book? I would be so happy to know that Harry dies young and he will forever be branded as the legendary wizard who defeated Voldemort (it will be like a myth, eh?)

Oh God, now I am being Potterish all over again.
I have to remember Harry Potter is just a character, not a real life figure. *dazed*
