Kek marble with choco topping

Kat sini, kena rajin masak siang malam 3 kali sehari. Kalau beli luar, mahal doh. Semua GBP eheh.. lagipun tekak confirm nak masakan Melayu gitu. Bekal anak-anak pergi sekolah pun sediakan dari rumah. Nak jimat! Lagipun diaorang ni suka bawa nugget dan seangkatan dengannya.

Terliur nak makan kek marble.

Sini nak beli measuring cup tak berbaloi, berapa ketul kek/biskut nak masak setakat nak makan sendiri.

Bahan-bahan:
  • 1 cawan marjerin
  • 1 cawan gula halus
  • 5 biji telur
  • 2 cawan tepung naik sendiri
  • 1 sudu teh esen vanila
  • pewarna
Cara-cara:
  1. Pukul marjerin dan gula hingga kembang
  2. Masuk telur sebiji-sebiji. Pukul lagi hingga kembang
  3. Masuk tepung, kacau rata.
  4. Bahagi adunan kepada 3 bahagian. Masuk pewarna ikut suka. Selalunya 1 bahagian saya campurkan 1/2 sudu teh coklat emulco,1 bahagian warna merah campur esen ros / strawberi. 1 bahagian lagi biar warna asal campur esen vanila.
  5. Masuk dlm loyang, selang seli bagi setiap warna.
  6. Bakar hingga masak (suhu 160-170 darjah Celcius pada 40-50 minit).
Step no. 4 tu, ikut caraku:
1 bahagian campur warna merah sirap ros, 1 bahagian campur warna hijau (lebihan pewarna untuk onde-onde), dan 1 bahagian warna asal.

Tadaaa.. siap kek marble ku, yummy yummy!

Ok meh pakat tabur coklat pula. Nih Fawwaz request. Pakai resipi Chocolate Ganache Farra. Gantikan dengan coklat Cadbury biasa saja (sini coklat murah, hohoho) dan fresh milk (sini pun susu murah, hohoho).

  1. Coklat dicairkan pakai double boiler (atas api perlahan). Api dimatikan bila coklat dah cair.
(yummy, yummy!)
Kebetulan pula hari ni birthday my youngest sister, Afiqah. Jadi sebelum potong kek, ramai-ramai cakap potong kek untuk Ishu. Bolehlah tu Ishu, orang Manchester pun nak celebrate birthday awak :P

Esok Amni dijemput pergi birthday party best friend dia, Jessica. Penat ibu abah dia pergi kedai tadi sebab dia pesan suruh carikan Jessica hadiah.

Jessica, the first girl in her class who greeted Amni when she entered Bowker Vale Primary School. Amni's best friends are multiracial. Jessica is White British while her other 2 best friends are African British (they are brown, said Amni) named Joyce and Lavina.

Republic of Ireland: 31 August 2010

We went to Republic of Ireland for our last cuti-cuti before the kids started school and I started my classes. And we went there at the end of Ramadhan, a week before Aidilfitri. We flew with RyanAir (GBP 200+ for the whole family to and fro Manchester - Dublin) and arrived there in the morning. Started our tour at the capital city of Dublin. We took an on foot tour.

In front of the Bank of Ireland, one of the iconic buildings in the city.

We finally arrived at Trinity College, the 7th oldest college in UK (before Ireland becomes a Republic of their own).

Went to view the famous Book of Kells, considered one of the finest manuscripts in Christianity history. And also, the famed Trinity College Library, which is centuries old, and smelled of the old books.

Left the college and found The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Ireland has so many colleges for medicine, that now I understand why medical students are sent here. Seriously, we found a street sign indicating "Department of Obstetrician and Gynecologist".

National Museum of Ireland.

In front of the National Library of Ireland.

The Mansion House, the official residence of Dublin's Lord Mayor since 1715.

Walking along the famous Grafton Street. Amni, in front of a stall selling flowers.

The statue of Molly Malone.

Interesting art!

I found that Dublin people, in general, are very friendly, very helpful. I might seemed to look lost at one point, when we were walking along Grafton Street, that one very jovial 'pakcik' asked us whether we are OK and he tells us where we could find the Dublin tourism centre.

I just know that the famous Guinness beer originated from Ireland (and main point of attraction for most tourists).

However, things are generally expensive here compared to the UK.

The next day, we went outside Dublin after having a good rest at Premier Inn Dublin Airport (which we secured with a cheap promotion).

Medicine can cause you drowsiness

I had a bad flu last week. My nose was stuffy and runny.

I popped Lemsip Max at 7 am in the morning before I went to town for my class.

I was trying not to fall asleep from the start of the class. And I know the tutor clearly saw me nodding off since I was sitting in the first front row, and opposite her while she was teaching (Yes, Farah always told me I love to sit in front of the lecturer).

Note to self: Never ever take your flu medicine when you know you are going to attend classes.

The sleepiness lasted all morning, and she might wonder what happened when she started seeing me paying attention and chirping answers when she asked questions in the afternoon session. (I know, I am kinda Hermoine Granger in class, jeez!)

When I told dear husband what happened, he said the tutor must be wondering whether her lectures was so boring that I dozed off in the first half. "Mesti lecturer awak fikir, boring sangat ke lecture dia?"

Haha, never thought of giving that first impression to the tutor. Anyhow, it was her first class with us, so of course, it might diminish her confidence, somehow :P

And I said to him, I did yawn in another class, once, that the tutor keep asking us what time is it since "he thought he bore us to death." (Yes, I was sitting in the front row opposite him :P).

On another note, my classmates said they are going to watch Harry Potter in November, and Nash made a joke, "Now I know why HP was premiering in November, they are ensuring that it does not clash with our ACCA exams. How thoughtful!"

Yeah, right! :D

Autumn @ Heaton Park

Cantik sungguh ciptaan Ilahi.

Di atas daun yang berguguran.

Merenung jauh...

Adik mengenali sang tupai (yang jinak-jinak).

Fawwaz tengah menungkan kekasih hati. Iya ke? "Fawwaz mana ada girlfriend!" itu yang dijawabnya bila Nek Ummi tanya.
Amni bermain dengan daun-daun kuning keemasan.

Seronok sangat tu Fahri!

Cik Abang.

Adik termenung panjang tidak dapat aiskrim.

Seluas mata memandang, itulah besarnya estet asal Heaton Park.
