Winter sonata @ Manchester

Turun juga akhirnya salji.

Masya' Allah, cantik betul bentuk salji, pelbagai corak, betul seperti yang dibayangkan semasa membaca short stories Enid Blyton masa kecil-kecil.

Atap-atap rumah dipenuhi dengan salji. En.

On the way to Kaplan, my college.

Berhenti seketika di persimpangan.

Winter, winter, here you come!

Some parts in UK are already snowing. Our town, Manchester, is still OK with clear blue skies with sunny days.

But the weather outside is below 0 degrees, which is really, really cold. This morning, it was -6. We have to scrap the frost on car every morning before sending the kids to school.

Weather forecast for next week will be light snow showers. Ada can la budak-budak nak main snow :P

And now, the IN colours are red, brown, black and silver. The mall's collection are also changing with season, and right now they are selling winter boots. Last autumn, it was wellies and rain coats. Last spring and summer were so colourful, with flip flops and tonnes of brightly coloured clothes.

Maghrib is at 4.00 p.m. and my hands and face are freezing after I finished my classes. Walking back home is also a torture, since it was so cold, that I have to check a few times whether I can move my hands or not.

Alhamdulillah, my last class will be on Wednesday, so I don't have to brave the cold weather anymore on my way back home. Tomorrow, I have to ask my husband to take me from tram station since I could not stand to walk 15 minutes back home. The cold weather, I think I can stand, but it was freezing outside that even water turns to frost.

Rasanya kalau buat ice cube, mesti jadi kan?

My exam is less than 2 weeks away. I better study rather than update my blog.. :P

Toodle peeps!

Giginya malu-malu nak tumbuh

Lama dah dok tunggu-tunggu, baru hari ini rasa gusi Fateh. Dah nak keluar gigi rupanya..
Anak-anak lain, 11 bulan semua dah ada gigi. Kak Amni lagi canggih, lahir-lahir dah ada gigi.

Awak pula dah 1 tahun 1/2 bulan baru nak nampak gigi. Jangan mengigit masa menyusu sudahlah.

Aidiladha

I have never chronicled my spiritual experience much, but the Hajj always held a special place in my heart.

Amni, anak sulungku

Selamat hari jadi Firzanah Amni Muhammad Firdaus, my firstborn.

Kakak kepada 3 adik lelaki. Setiap kali ibunya mengandung, dia mengharapkan adik perempuan.

Kita sama-sama kejar akhirat ye sayang!

My long journey in ACCA

Kadang-kadang rasa nak tersungkur pun ada. Masuk kelas masa mula semester, nak menangis pun ada. Susah-susah-susah, itulah yang bermain di fikiran.

Dalam kepala dah mula fikir yang bukan-bukan. Kenapalah tak ditakdirkan dapat sambung Masters? Kenapalah dapat ACCA scholarship? Aim bukan nak cemerlang, nak lulus.. nak dapat 50 pun tercungap-cungap.

Kena luangkan masa belajar hari-hari. Pesanan kawan pun ingat, kalau ambil ACCA, kau tak ada masa macam orang Masters. Ya tahu-tahu, betul kau cakap tu Halim.

Bila sampai exam time, stressnya astagfirullah, semua benda lalu depan aku rasa nak marah. Rasa nak makan buku ACCA tu pun ada. Classmate ada sampai tidur dengan nota ACCA. Stressnya, memikirkan kita ambil exam dengan orang lain seantero dunia. Bila masuk exam pun sama, tengok stadium Old Trafford tu, nak lari keluar pun ada.

Marker mana kenal kita.

Selamat hari lahir sayang.. my miracle babies.

Kuat betul kandungan saya, walaupun bleeding berkali-kali. Dan saya dapat merasa ni'mat bersalin normal, walaupun ada doktor menggeleng kepala bila saya katakan saya mengandung lagi (takut luka ceaser terbuka, katanya).

Pejam celik, pejam celik, anak sulung lelaki kami dah besar rupanya. 6 tahun.

Orangnya beremosi, mendengar kata. Bijak dalam pemerhatian dunia sekeliling. Suka rancangan memasak seperti Masterchef dan Cake Boss. Dan suka Mythbusters di Discovery Channel. Paling penting, suka layan drama Melayu. Cita-cita mungkin seorang jurutera mekanikal atau chef kek terkemuka.

Ini miracle baby yang ketiga. Kenapa yang ketiga? Hero-hero saya semua miracle babies, sama ada sejarah termengandung cepat (selepas ceaserian) atau berhenti makan pil perancang seketika (saya mengandung 5 bulan masa pergi menunaikan Haji) atau...

Fateh Aqmar Muhammad Firdaus, si bayi yang melompat! Sebab saya mengandungkan Fateh semasa memakai IUD.

Saya dah check in masuk hospital untuk ceaserian section esoknya!

Fawwaz & Fateh, 9th November babies.

Tingginya harapan kami untuk anak-anak. Harapan kami untuk mereka mengejar akhirat.

To sum our story short..

I am so relieved my parents are here, happy, safe and sound.

And it really helps me to relax a little bit and focus on my study since I have 5 days straight classes when they came from Malaysia. Of course, my mom has been doing the cooking, ahhh.. I miss my mom's cooking. And my dad plays with his grand childrens.

Some of the activities we have been up to with my parents in town.

30.10.2010: Went to Lake District National Park, England's national park with my family. Did you know the creator of the famous Peter Rabbit (Beatrix Potter) settled here? I have watched the movie of Miss Potter again and again, the title character was played brilliantly by Renee Zellweger. No wonder the movie setting is so, so, so beautiful. And the books illustrated by Beatrix Potter had Lake District as its background.

Grandparents with grand kids. Beautiful park that we found beside Premier Inn Kendal Central.

Lake District consists of many, many lakes. It was the right time to come here. My friend said that the place was most beautiful when it was autumn because of the colourful leaves.

Trying to make some smokes.. asap berkepul-kepul keluar wei time bercakap.

And then we went to London to renew my passport. Issuing office is: High Commission of Malaysia, London.. tehehehe

Celebrating Bonfire Night. 'Remember, remember.. the 5th of November' - Guy Fawkes

Went to York, the city of Vikings yesterday (6 November). Ramainya laa umat manusia, kalah Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.. hahaha :P

Just now, went to St Helen's car boot. Fahri with his new catch, the scooter (costed GBP 2). My mom was delighted with the invention of car boot. And most importantly, this car boot is much better than the Chelford car boot. Suka suka suka!!!

Lastly, qabily pilau rice at Al Jazeera. Best in the UK (but still unbeatable at the side stall near Hilton Mekah.) Al-Rawsha, kau boleh blah :P

Daylight saving time has come to an end

31.7.2010 - We have to change back our clock with less of an hour (-1 hour than before), since the daylight saving time has come to an end. Previously, we have to add 1 hour (+1 hour) on 31st March. So currently, Malaysia and UK time difference is back to +8 hours, compared to +7 hours before.

Now the biggest change that I noticed when we have to change our clock back is the prayer time! Huhu, mandom beb mandom... Before this, Subuh will be at 6.00 a.m. and the sun will only rise at 8.00 a.m.! Our Zohor will be at 12.55 p.m. and Asar is at 3.30 p.m., with Maghrib around 5.40 p.m., and Isyak at 7.40 p.m.

And now... could you imagine with one hour lesser, our Maghrib is at 4.30 p.m. Time jalan balik kelas pulak tu! Huhu, maghrib baru sampai rumah.. chaiyakk.. Even my mom said to be careful since it is already dark at 5 p.m.

This is at 4.15 p.m., it looks bright right. Nampaknya kamera phone Nokiaku canggih juga menyembunyikan keadaan sebenar. Did you notice the building with the semi circle roof? Yes, the library actually switched on its light already.

It's already dawn. I missed the first train, drat (at 4.22 p.m.).

Another shoot of the railway track. Huhu, laluan tram dalam bandar. Setakat ni takde kes orang mati kena langgar tram.. hehehe. Yes, we actually walked on the tram line. All the buildings already switched on its light at that time.

And now, walking back home at 5.00 p.m.

Padahal jam baru menunjukkan pukul 4.45 petang.

Don't even get me started on the Isyak time, it is at 6.30 p.m.

And compare this with spring/summer time. Maghrib at 9.00 p.m., and Isyak, at nearly 12 a.m.! Hah!
